John Ferguson     jferguson@onioncreekclub.com
PGA Head Golf Professional

John Ferguson comes to Onion Creek Club after spending his entire PGA career working in Central Texas, namely at the now shuttered Aquarena Springs Golf Course and – most recently – at Quail Creek Country Club. Both of those properties are in San Marcos, Texas, about 20 minutes from Onion Creek Club.

Taught the game of golf at the age of 12 by his father, Ferguson started playing at Quail Creek Country Club when it was first built. He began working in the golf business when he was 16 at Aquarena Springs and quickly discovered his passion for golf and the golf business. Ferguson played on the San Marcos High School golf team, and then on the squad at Southwest Texas State University (now called Texas State University).

While still in college and working on his degree requirements, Ferguson was offered and accepted a full-time job as the golf professional/course manager at Aquarena Springs Golf Course. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1985.

Ferguson ascended ranks at Quail Creek to the role of general manager and director of golf in 2004, a position that he held until he left in 2011 for his new role at Onion Creek Club.
